VH1? More like VHDumb...

Okay, I apologize for that title, I know it's stupid but hey, I couldn't think of anything else. I have been watching some of their shows online for a while and I was really happy. They were pretty much the only ones that allow people to watch some of their shows online! Complete episodes online from the original source! Also, Bonus Material! How awesome is that? But it didn't stop there, I could watch it from outside the US! How fucking great! Right?!

Right?!

Wrong.

These stupid people decided to block me out after watching 10 episodes of Daisy of Love (I'm not ashamed of that but I'll get into further details on another post), maybe they hadn't noticed little me watching it all this time and just realized that they weren't blocking me out.

Anyways, I now have to wait a long time for VH1 in Colombia to show it or a slightly shorter amount of time for the cool guys at some other sites to upload the latest episodes. So all I have to say is thank you VH1 for taking from me all that trashy, ridiculously entertaining goodness. Morons.

Oh and thank you internets for letting me watch the shows that the original networks won't let me have!

WTSO

A good way to spend time online is by watching good shows without having to pay for them. Am I right? Of course I am, you don't need to answer that. No, seriously, don't.

Well, here is my review of Watch the Simpsons Online which has most of The Simpsons episodes on it. It is completely free and easy enough to use, search the archive, look at a random episode, or watch one of the ones featured on the front page. It has a pretty good speed most of the time and good quality on the newer episodes. You don't need an account or to pay them and the videos can be seen from places outside the U.S.

The only couple of problems that I have found are that the older episodes aren't really high quality and that some episodes are missing.

Now go and enjoy some of the finest from this awesome show!

P.S. I should really write more often huh...

taking back sunday

today i was flipping channels on my tv, of course while procrastinating when i passed by mtv... anyways i saw a video of a band who had black goo poured on them while playing. I thought how fucking unoriginal! i mean, i was instantly reminded of the strokes and the "you only live once" video . yeah, that was a damn cool video, theyre all dressed in white and black liquid pours on them and they keep playing. an awesome idea for a video, right? well i guess tbs agrees with me.

okay, back to the story, i was reminded of the video and then i have to endure the remaining eternity (or half a minute, whatever) of music because i'm dying to figure out who would have such an original idea, who would have thought of that before?!?! (note the sarcasm). it turns out its taking back sunday. oh geez just because the goop you used was slightly more -gooey and they used a red background and some kind of audience doesn't mean that its different. or maybe i don't know what i'm talking about but i would guess that i am right this time. i'm also thinking that this is some sort of visual pun for the title of the song "sink into me", get it? its called sink into me and they sink into something, get it? get it?!?! of course you do, unless you didn't in which case, you're welcome.

Well, in conclusion, the video is not too bad but it could have been better you know, at least not the copy of some other work and i prefer the strokes' video... however, tbs don't suck and Adam (thats the lead singer, right?) is way hott ;)

CAKE!

So, I didn't have anything else to do today but click around the internet for a while until something interesting came up. Oh and how awesome it was.

It started by checking the usual sites, which of course meant my webcomics. First stop was Questionable Content (awesome webcomic, you have to check it out although it does have a story so you have to go back to the first one. but its worth it...) and on the news post Jeph said he had made a guest strip for johnny wander (another pretty rad webcomic, i just got there today in fact and am now in the process of looking at it). Anyways I followed the link and started looking around and I stumbled on awesome #44 Cake Wreck (the comic) which made me giggle, however the best part was the newspost and the real life picture of the thing! And what else do I find there but another link, this time to Cake Wrecks (the blog) which has entertained me for a while now and almost made me fall of my chair laughing.

reality dating

Okay okay, I was watching the rock of love bus show today and it got me thinking about these reality shows. Of course, several questions popped into my mind 1) why the hell am i watching this? 2) why the hell does anyone watch this? 3) why do this girls keep killing each other for a date with that guy?

Well, it's no secret that some of the reality stars girls fight over are downright ugly, ridiculous, or just not worth all that drama. My first example is bret michaels, he's in many ways better than many other reality stars (anyone say flavor flav?) but he's not drop dead gorgeous. He's not in a really good shape anymore and he's getting kinda old. However my problem is mostly his hair, a flowing, increasingly silly wig. He admits to having fake hair but come on dude lol. However he is famous and a pretty cool guy (I mean, what girl wouldn't fall for a musician?) and the girls get a chance at fame and tv time.

Now, as for the "why watch this" question, I must say that there are several possible reasons.
  • There are hot half naked girls getting drunk and doing silly things
  • Its a pretty interesting thing to see, people doing ridiculous crazy things just for our entertainment
  • Its impossible not to watch it
  • Our brains have slowly rotted through previous crappy programing and now we'll take anything.
Well, I guess this is one of the great mysteries of mankind and we should just forget about it and go watch some tv.

Ludo

Okay, I know sometimes all you want is to know what someone else is listening to so you have something new in your ipod (or other music player of choice). Especially, when that someone has awesome music taste (like I do, no?). Anyway, Ludo is my new obsession.

How can you not like them? they are awesome (in a geeky weird sort of way). The music is upbeat, the lyrics are crazy (most of the time) and the videos are pretty damn cool. I have no idea how popular they are (MTV status? completely unknown?) and I don't really care this time around. So if you are ready for some undefinable, weird rock music check them out.

The songs in their albums are pretty varied as there are a couple of plainly crazy songs mixed in with a little bit of everything (sad songs, slow songs, normal songs, happy songs, party songs, drunken laments...).
Songs you must listen to (in no particular order):
  • Good Will Hunting by Myself
  • Lake Pontchartrain
  • Girls on Trampolines
  • Love me Dead
  • Go-Getter Greg
  • Topeka
So go ahead and check them out on myspace or the interwebs

Robert Benfer-Rock (yeah, he hyphened it)

Okay, okay, maybe that's an obscure reference for many people out there. It shouldn't be. Robert Benfer is a pretty cool guy, he's a comedian/musician. In fact, among his many videos there are several music clips made with his own songs which are extremely funny, (including rocks from which I take the title for today). But wait, there's more! (haha, sorry, I can't help but laughing at my own "jokes") He also makes "klaymations" which are pretty cool clips of little clay dudes in stop motion. Okay, I'll stop raving about this guy and give out some websites where you can see his stuff. YOUTUBE WEBSITE or look him up on itunes for the songs (which not everyone may like btw cos my music taste is a tad odd).

It's been a long time.

Okay, it's been a busy few months, and I'm probably going to be equally as busy for a while (at least 3 more weeks) but I'll make an effort to post more often, because I feel the need to rant.

Anyways, I just read a really awesome story, (holy crap I cant believe I actually read books oh gad, what a nerd) it's called Usher II. This story is seriously cool, it mixes all of Poe's evil constructions with a lot of robots and martians (I mean humans living in mars... the martians have been dead for a while in the story). You can find it in Bradbury's Martian Chronicles (I know it's old and a classic sci fi book, but hey, gotta recommend it to the people who don't know it or at least I gotta give my opinion of the thing), go grab your copy, find it at the library, download a torrent, do whatever you have to do to read or re-read this story, it's a must but I would suggest reading some of Poe's stories before reading it (The Masque of the Red Death, The Cask of Amontillado, The Pit and the Pendulum, The Murders in the Rue Morgue, and The Tell-Tale Heart).

On other, but still related, news, I'm working on a website with a couple of girls from an online class, its a project for the class but it's going to be awesome, I may link it here later when it's done. The website will be about Bradbury (yay! I'm doing the work related to him), Connan Doyle (yay!), and Stephen King (yay!) and how Poe influenced them all.

That's all folks :)

leATHERMOUTH vs. My Chemical Romance ????

so today while checking my email i found a new my chem newsletter and so i looked at it (although i tend to ignore them usually...) and i found what is a message from frank shamelessly advertising his other band (dont think im insulting him or whatever because i advertise shamelessly myself and i think that is pretty friggin useful lol, and everyone else on the internet does it too so yea...) so i decided to check out this band, specially because this warning "I venture to say many of you will probably end up hating it and I encourage you to vent that distaste as you see fit, my only hope is that you are not indifferent to it."

what i found was down right awesome! lol i wasn't really expecting this. which is far from the more mainstream my chem stuff since it is harder and louder (dont really know about the lyrics because i havent had time to really listen to the songs or google the lyrics which probably arent anywhere anyways). what i dont like: with only two songs on the myspace i can't really tell about their stile, and the picture with frank on it and four other guys in bunny masks just doesn't look good to me...

my chemical romance is pretty good but i liked the first two albums more, the last one (the black parade) was overplayed and overrated in my opinion.... anyways, i think both bands will be compared a lot since frank iero is in both of them and he is just so hot (i dont know if im being sarcastic there or not...)

anyways, i guess i just wrote a lot of crap but whatever im gonna go now...
